Greg Ferris is the President and CEO of SWD Productions, LLC, an award winning Houston-based independent film and video production company. Greg founded SWD as a vehicle to bring his experiences and his passions - both personal and professional - together.

A graduate of Dartmouth College, Greg began his professional career in investment banking at State Street Bank and Trust, Co. in Boston. He was then recruited to New York City, to work in merchant and investment banking for ContiFinancial Corporation where he was rapidly promoted, ultimately becoming an Assistant Vice President. 



He has served as an independent consultant to a variety of small businesses, and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Arruth Associates, Inc., a privately held Houston-based real estate management and development company.

In December of 1999, Greg was diagnosed with leukemia and underwent a bone marrow transplant in May of 2000. He has spent nearly the last decade fighting for his life and for the advancement of research and quality of life issues. He is a vocal advocate for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Anderson Network. Greg served on the IRB review board at MD Anderson Cancer Center as a community representative, and has participated in several clinical trial reviews as a patient advocate through CTEP. He was also a member of CARRA. 

He has appeared on panels with Lance Armstrong and authored a chapter in the LiveStrong book published by the LAF.

Greg is a playwright and actor and has performed as a member of a local improv/sketch comedy troupe. He has put his multiple experiences and talents to use as an executive producer, writer and actor, bringing a dynamic and accomplished group of industry professionals together to help form the core of the SWD team. He wrote, produced and appeared in SWD’s inaugural project, Frieda Gilroy, winner of the Audience Award, Houston 48 Hour Film Project, Award of Merit from IndieFest, and a Platinum Remi from Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival.
